Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Crisis Connect mobile app, public website, and related services. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Crisis Connect, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Agreement Sections
1. Acceptance and Scope
These Terms apply to individual and organizational use of Crisis Connect. If you use the service on behalf of a company, NGO, school, public institution, or response organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization. Separate written agreements may supplement or replace parts of these Terms for enterprise or rescue deployments.
2. Service Purpose
Crisis Connect is an offline-first communication service designed for disasters, outages, degraded infrastructure, drills, and field coordination. The service has two broad operating modes: standard local communication for general users, and restricted online or rescue-coordination workflows for authorized contexts. Standard nearby use does not require a named online profile, but some optional or institutional features may rely on cloud services. Crisis Connect is not a substitute for official emergency numbers or government emergency systems.
Standard User Use
Local onboarding, nearby messaging, attachments, and device-to-device emergency communication are intended for general users.
Authorized or Online Workflows
Profile-linked sign-in, role-gated rescue features, and coordination sync are intended only when enabled and, in some cases, only for authorized institutions or responders.
3. Eligibility and Restricted Access
You may use Crisis Connect only if your use is lawful in your jurisdiction, you comply with these Terms, and you have authority to use any organizational credentials you provide. Minors may use the service only with any legally required permission or supervision.
Standard Access
Most users may use standard local communication features without organizational authentication.
Restricted Access
Rescue-only, verification-gated, or institution-linked features may be used only by properly authorized personnel or organizations and may require a verified role or approved account.
4. License to Use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Crisis Connect for personal, internal organizational, educational, testing, drill, or real emergency purposes. You may not resell, sublicense, reverse engineer except where law expressly permits, misuse, or use the service for unlawful surveillance, fraud, harassment, or other prohibited conduct.
5. Technical and Operational Limitations
Crisis Connect operates in demanding environments and is subject to practical limits. Messages may be delayed, duplicated, corrupted, or never delivered. Bluetooth proximity and range are limited. Battery life, hardware quality, OS restrictions, radio interference, local settings, internet availability, map-provider availability, and backend availability may affect performance. Some features require connectivity even though the core product is offline-first.
By using the service, you acknowledge and accept these technical and operational limits.
6. Not an Emergency Service and No Rescue Guarantee
Crisis Connect does not dispatch police, firefighters, medical teams, or other official responders. We do not guarantee delivery, monitoring, receipt, response, rescue, or medical outcome for any chat, alert, beacon, location update, or SOS event. Where possible, always contact official emergency services directly.
You must not rely on Crisis Connect as your sole safety, rescue, or medical communication channel.
7. Responsible Use of SOS and Rescue Features
Emergency and rescue tools must be used carefully and lawfully.
- Use SOS, responder, and coordination features only for legitimate drills, testing, or real incidents.
- Do not trigger false alerts, impersonate responders, or misrepresent your role, agency, or authority.
- Do not flood, jam, abuse, or intentionally disrupt nearby users or rescue workflows.
- Do not upload unlawful, deceptive, threatening, or privacy-invasive content through the service.
Misuse may put real people at risk, may violate law, and may result in suspension, termination, or referral to the relevant authorities.
8. User Responsibilities
When using Crisis Connect, you are responsible for the following:
Your Device and Readiness
Keep your device charged, updated, physically secured, and configured with the permissions required for the features you choose to use.
Your Content and Conduct
Use accurate information where possible, protect other people's privacy, and avoid harmful, abusive, or misleading communications.
Compliance with Law and Policy
Follow applicable communications, privacy, encryption, emergency-management, employment, and public-safety rules, including any agency or employer policies that apply to your role.
9. Privacy and Data Handling
Your use of Crisis Connect is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Core chats and attachments are designed to stay primarily on devices, but data handling differs between standard local use and restricted online or rescue workflows.
Standard User Mode
Standard nearby messaging is intended to work without a named cloud profile, subject to any anonymous service identity used for limited online support.
Authorized and Online Mode
Optional sign-in, diagnostics, map services, and rescue coordination may create or sync anonymous identities, profile data, role metadata, and operational records.
10. Security
Crisis Connect may use encryption, role-based authorization, app integrity checks, secure local storage, and related safeguards. Those measures reduce risk but do not eliminate it. You are responsible for protecting your device, credentials, and access to restricted features.
11. Intellectual Property
The Crisis Connect service, software, visual assets, documentation, and related Auralis branding are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license granted above, no rights are transferred to you. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from protected materials except as law or written permission allows.
12. Third-Party Services
Crisis Connect may rely on third-party products and infrastructure including Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Functions, App Check, Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Google sign-in services, Firebase Hosting, and MapTiler or MapLibre-related services. Those services are governed by their own terms, privacy notices, and operational policies.
13. Warranty Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crisis Connect is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not warrant uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation.
- We do not warrant availability on every device, network, or geographic region.
- We do not warrant that any message, alert, map download, or rescue workflow will complete successfully.
- We do not warrant fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or complete accuracy of third-party data.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from delayed or undelivered messages, failed rescue coordination, outages, data loss, device damage, network failures, or reliance on the service during an emergency. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Auralis and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contractors from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of your misuse of Crisis Connect, your violation of these Terms, your unlawful conduct, or your unauthorized use of restricted rescue features.
16. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update, improve, restrict, suspend, or discontinue parts of Crisis Connect at any time. We may also update these Terms. If you continue using the service after an updated version becomes effective, you accept the revised Terms.
17. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to all or part of the service if we believe you breached these Terms, created safety or legal risk, misused rescue features, or attempted unauthorized access. You may stop using Crisis Connect at any time by uninstalling the app and discontinuing use.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Unless a mandatory law provides otherwise, disputes will be resolved through the competent courts and enforcement offices of Turkey.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any separate written agreement that expressly applies to your use, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding Crisis Connect.
